Direkt starting
Direkt starting (startar in Swedish) is the default message for the display. Direkt units show this until USB driver and display application have started. The message is usually replaced by Direkt menu after 30-90 seconds.
There are some known problems that can cause the initial message to stay on the display.
DIREKT HANGS IN BIOS
The second generation 1U rack chassis sometimes hangs in BIOS when it starts. This is random and happens a few percent of startups. Just restart the unit and it will almost certain work fine.
A much less common problem is that the BIOS battery is bad, which causes BIOS to use default settings and prompt the user to press F1 or similar to continue. This shows only if a VGA monitor is connected and is solved by connecting an USB keyboard and press F1. If it happens again, the Direkt unit must be repaired by Intinor.
USB CABLE UNCONNECTS FROM MOTHERBOARD
The display is connected to Direkt’s motherboard using a USB cable. On new Direkt units this connector is glued very solid, but on some older units, it can disconnect because of vibrations usually in transport.
Direkt works fine without the display. If network settings are valid, it will connect to ISS and can be used, but not configured. If the unit has NAT router option, its web interface is available from IP2.
If the user must configure the unit but can not, it’s ok to open the hardware and try to attach the USB cable. It’s not so difficult. Disconenct all power from Direkt. Look at the back side of the display card. There are two cables. One is power cable and connects to a hard disk power cable. The other is USB and should be connected to the mother board. If it’s not, connect it.

SUPPORT TEST UNITS
Intinor test units are for internal use by Intinor and partners who are given access to them. Contact Intinor support or your local re-seller support to use those.
Direkt link (test encoder)
Intinor has one encoder – serial number 87 – usually available for test on a public IP-number. This Direkt link is modified to always output a SD video from file. By adding destinations, customer’s Direkt receivers or routers can be tested.
Direkt router (test receiver)
Intinor has one router – 111 – available for test on a public IP-number. Users can send to this router and Intinor support can verify that users Direkt link works fine and is not blocked by a firewall. Use VLC and open a TCP-stream to fetch the video from 111 on port 5001 to 5008.
“IP-ström in 7” listens to TCP port 80 and can be used if a user thinks he is behind a firewall, which lets TCP port 80 pass through. From router 111, the signal can be forwarded to desired destination. Or fetched with TCP from port 5007.
RTMP TROUBLE SHOOTING
Limelight
When using Limelight, the RTMP URL must end with _definst_
This information is not always given by the streaming provider.
Akamai
Akamai uses their own authentication protocol, currently not supported by the main Direkt software. To use Akamai, a specific software version is needed (which doesn’t support Limelight). Contact Intinor support.
4-WIRE TALKBACK
Optional function
4-wire talkback is an option, which can be activated on Direkt units by Intinor. The function requires Direkt software 2.12 or later.
Audio input/output support
Today, only audio inputs on Direkt link 300C and USB audio box USBPre2 from Sound Devices are supported.
